05/17/2009 - First XC flight of the year. Launched from NE launch of Nebo and flew to
Booneville airport.
05/31/2009 - Short flight from Mag to Rick's LZ. If you want to know where Rick's LZ is, look at this tracklog.
06/20/2009 - 43 mile flight from Mag to east of Atkins, AR. Landed by I-40.
06/27/2009 - Magazine to Nebo.
06/28/2009 - Nebo to Sod Farm. One of the regular Nebo LZ's, about 6 miles east of Nebo.
07/25/2009 - Attempted Mag to Nebo. Couldn't make it, and landed at Woodson's airstrip.
Look at this tracklog to see the location of Woodson's airstrip, a great place to land if you're making the Mag to Nebo flight and need to put it down.
08/08/2009 - Launched at Mag, went over the back, crossed the Arkansas River Valley and hit the Bostons at Oark.
Didn't have the altitude to go over the Bostons, and landed near the Mulberry River just east of the town of Oark.
08/09/2009 - Mag to Nebo.
08/15/2009 - Another attempt at heading north on a weak, marginal day. Launched from Mag, made it across the river valley,
but was too low to go into the Bostons. Landed near Ozark.
08/31/2009 - Attempt at flying from Nebo to Mag. Got low on Chickalah ridge, scratched my way past Woodsons, and
landed in one of the infamous "forbidden fields". Luckily, no one came out with a gun. Look at this tracklog to see where not to land.
09/01/2009 - 45.6 miles. Longest flight of the year. Launched from east side of Nebo, landed west of Booneville.
Mark Stump and I landed in the same field.
09/04/2009 - Not really an XC, since I came back and landed at one of the regular Nebo LZ's.
This was a test flight to see how the glider flew with a nose boom and camera mounted.
